Silicon dioxide airgel is a solid physical form. Airgel is the world's lowest density solid. A density of 3 kg per cubic meter. General Common airgel silica aerogels, which was first proposed by American scientists Kistler in 1931 because of their friends betting system. Many types of aerogels, silicon-based, carbon-based, sulfur-based, metal oxide, metal series and so on. aerogel is a combination of words, here aero is an adjective, represents flight, gel apparently gel. 

You can literally fly gel. any substance as long as the gel after drying After removal of the solvent inside, but also to maintain their shape substantially unchanged, and the product of high porosity, low density, they can call all aerogels.

The present invention is generally related to a membrane and method for making the same, and more particularly to a porous silicon dioxide aerogel composite membrane and method for making the same and a carbon dioxide sorption device. Due to discharge large amount of greenhouse gas, global warming becomes serious day by day. Carbon dioxide among discharged gas has the largest discharge amount and thus various carbon dioxide capture techniques have been developed. 

In light of the above background, in order to fulfill the requirements of industries, one object of the present invention is to provide a porous silicon dioxide aerogel composite membrane and method for making the same by using a methyltrimethoxysilane precursor to form a porous silica aerogel membrane on a porous aluminum oxide membrane to have the pore size of the porous aluminum oxide membrane be shrunk and have the porous aluminum oxide membrane become hydrophobic for CO2 sorption. Moreover, one object of the present invention is to provide a carbon dioxide sorption device by using a membrane contactor and the porous silica aerogel composite membrane according to the present invention to not only increase the CO2 processing quantity but also circulate CO2 absorbents so as to achieve optimum CO2 sorption quantity and long-term effective CO2 capture for reducing operation cost of CO2 capture and reducing required energy consumption.
