Silicon Dioxide is the manufacture of glass, quartz glass, water glass, optical fiber, and refractory materials. When it perfect crystalline it formed crystal, Silicon Dioxide gelled after dehydration is agate,when it less than a few microns, it will form to chalcedony, flint, secondary quartzite. It's physical and chemical properties are very stable mineral resources, crystal belongs to trigonal system of oxide minerals, namely, low temperature quartz (a- quartz), is the quartz group minerals most widely distributed of a mineral species. Generalized also include high temperature quartz quartz (b- quartz). Quartz block, also known as silica, mainly the production of quartz sand (also known as silica sand) of raw material is quartz refractories and firing ferrosilicon raw materials.

Initially, the growth of silicon dioxide is a surface reaction only. However, after the SiO2 thickness begins to build up, the arriving oxygen molecules must diffuse through the growing SiO2 layer to get to the silicon surface in order to react. A popular model for the oxide growth kinetics is the "Deal/Grove" model. This model is generally valid for temperatures between 700 and 1300 C, partial pressures between 0.2 and 1.0 atmospheres, and oxide thicknesses between 0.03 and 2 microns for both wet and dry oxidation. 

The oxidizing species are transported from the bulk gas to the gas/oxide interface with flux F1 (where flux is the number of molecules crossing a unit area per unit time). The species are transported across the growing oxide toward the silicon surface with flux F2, and react at the Si/silicon dioxide interface with flux F3. It's applications: (1)Glass: The main raw material for flat glass, float glass, glass products (glass jars, glass bottles, glass, etc.), optical glass, glass fibers, glass instrument, conductive glass, glass cloth and anti-ray special glass, etc., (2) Ceramics and refractories, blank porcelain and glazes, kilns with high silica brick, brick and ordinary raw materials such as silicon carbide, (3) Metallurgy: Silicon metal, ferrosilicon alloy and silicon aluminum and other raw materials or additives, flux, (4) Building: Concrete, cementitious materials, road building materials, artificial marble, cement physical properties of test materials, etc., (5) Chemical industry:Silicon compound and water glass and other raw materials, sulfuric acid tower filler, amorphous Silicon Dioxide.
