Heat treatment after silicon dioxide surface moisture absorption quantity is low, and the filling products moisture absorption quantity also declined significantly, the reason may be due to the high temperature heating under the condition of hydrogen bond association of adjacent hydroxyl dehydrated to form a stable key units, resulting in reduced under the water absorbing capacity, this method is simple and economic. Only through heat treatment, however, cannot very good improve when filling interface adhesive effect, so in practice, often with fine silica particles using zinc compounds, and the heat treatment under the condition of 200 ~ 400 ℃, or the use of silane and transition metal ions with fine silica particles processing, and then after heat treatment, or use the poly dimethyl siloxane modified two silicon dioxide, then heat treatment.

Chemical modification:

Use of alcohols, amines, fatty acids, or polymer surface of modified silicon dioxide.
